Test cases and folders
Nest folders and move a parent without losing the path. Case keys such as PA-T1 sort in numeric order.
For Jira Cloud
Northline is the test ledger for Jira Cloud: folders, versioned steps, cycles across environments, and coverage on the issue itself. A REST API and an MCP server let CI and AI agents write the same store.
Product
Everything a test cycle needs, without a second system of record.
Nest folders and move a parent without losing the path. Case keys such as PA-T1 sort in numeric order.
Each step has an action, test data, and an expected result. Once a version has been executed, the next edit is a new version. Shared steps live in a library and expand inside the case.
Run a cycle across configurations such as browser and region. Mark each step Pass, Fail, Blocked, or Skip. Paste a screenshot onto a step and file a Jira bug from a failure.
Test Coverage & Executions lists the linked cases and the latest status. Link or unlink a case on the issue. Coverage is written to tcmCoverage for JQL.
Jira admins create API keys for CI and MCP clients. The raw key is shown once and stored only as a SHA-256 hash. Point an agent at /mcp.
Each Jira site and Forge environment has its own ledger. A development install and a production install on the same site do not share test data.
How it works
A Jira admin installs Northline from the Atlassian Marketplace. The project page, issue panel, and API keys page appear on the site.
Open Test Management on a project. Add folders and cases with steps. Turn on review if edits should wait for approval.
Execute a cycle, mark the steps, and read the result on the Jira issue. CI and agents can write the same runs through the API.
Security and privacy
Northline processes test content to provide the product. It does not sell data, and it does not use product analytics.
Read the privacy policyCases, runs, and coverage, in the project your team already uses.
